RSL Classical is the newest addition to RSL Awards’ graded music exam portfolio. RSL have been delivering graded music exams for 30 years, and we’re delighted to present our Classical syllabuses in Piano, Violin and Guitar!

Classical Violin grades for the 21st-century! RSL Classical Violin celebrates the diverse range of composers writing for violin from throughout history to the present day. With works by female and male composers from the global majority across Classical, Classical Crossover, Jazz and Pop, the syllabus provides an engaging stimulus for learning from beginner to advanced level.

Classical Guitar grades for the 21st-century! Striking a balance between radical redesign and recognisable structure, RSL Classical Guitar adheres to four key principles: championing composers from the global majority, true representation of gender, acknowledging the history and tradition of guitar pedagogy, and enabling students to feel comfortable studying music in a popular and classical environment. With works from a diverse selection of composers across classical, contemporary classical, jazz and pop, the syllabus provides an engaging stimulus for learning guitar from beginner to advanced level.

The RSL Classical Piano syllabus proudly represents Classical music in all its forms, including music from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras together with repertoire from the 20th and 21st century. The pieces sit alongside a range of scales, arpeggios and technical studies to provide a challenging and engaging syllabus for the 21st-century musician.
